WHO WE ARE

Home Inventory ("we", "us") is a home inventory service available at myinventories.com and through our mobile apps. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and the choices you have. For anything unclear, contact us at [email protected].

WHAT WE COLLECT

• Account data: your email address, display name, and password. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes — we never see or store them in plain text.
• Inventory content you create: homes, rooms, items, quantities, tags, shopping lists, item photos, and receipts or order emails you choose to import.
• Diagnostics: our web and mobile apps send us crash reports and technical telemetry (event names, app version, device model and OS version, and structural stack traces). Telemetry is designed to exclude message text and personal content. Our servers also keep standard access logs, which include IP addresses.
• Cookies: the website uses a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We use no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

HOW WE USE IT

We use your data only to run the service: keeping your inventory in sync across devices, sharing homes with members you invite, generating your own analytics and stock alerts, and troubleshooting problems. We show no ads, we do not sell your data, and we use no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

WHERE IT GOES

• Our infrastructure: your data is stored on our own servers (hosted by Hostinger) and traffic is proxied through Cloudflare.
• Barcode lookups: when you scan or enter a product barcode, the barcode digits are sent to Open Food Facts and UPCitemdb to look up product details. No account information is attached to these lookups.
• AI features: photos and messages you submit to AI features (such as item identification or chat) are processed by AI models we run on our own infrastructure, or by our AI hosting provider (Ollama) where configured.
• Fonts (mobile apps): the mobile app downloads its fonts from Google Fonts on first run, which means Google receives your device's IP address for that request.

WHO CAN SEE YOUR CONTENT

Your inventory is private to you and the members of the homes you share. Photos and items are never public. We access account content only when needed to operate the service or when you ask us for help.

RETENTION & DELETION

Your content stays until you delete it or delete your account. Diagnostics and server logs are kept for a limited period for troubleshooting and then discarded.

You can delete your account at any time from your profile page (on the web or in the app). Deleting your account removes your account data and every home that only you use, including its photos. Homes you share with other members stay with those members — ownership passes to the longest-standing member — and your personal account data is removed from them.

CHILDREN

This service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

YOUR RIGHTS

You can access and edit your data in the app, and delete it as described above. For access, export, or deletion requests you can also email [email protected].

CHANGES

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
